National Museum of Women in the Arts

The National Museum of Women in the Arts (NMWA) in Washington, D.C. is the only major museum in the world solely dedicated to championing women through the arts. With a collection spanning over 5,500 works from the 16th century to today, the museum highlights the achievements of women artists who have often been overlooked in art history. In addition to its groundbreaking exhibitions like Women to Watch, NMWA offers innovative public programs, performances, and publications that spark dialogue and expand opportunities for women in the arts worldwide. A visit to NMWA provides not only a vibrant cultural experience but also a deeper understanding of how women artists shape—and continue to shape—our shared history and future.
